The Data Protection Act 1998 regulates the use of personal data and sets out eight data protection principles to which organisations must comply in their processing of personal data.
The Scenesafe Business Unit of Forensic Science Service Ltd. [FSS] will keep your personal data secure and use such data strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 for the purposes of maintaining a database of customer contacts.
This means that your personal data shall be:
- processed fairly and lawfully
- processed for limited, defined purposes
- adequate, relevant and not excessive
- accurate and where necessary up to date
- kept for no longer than is necessary
- processed in accordance with your rights
- processed securely in order to protect against unauthorised processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data
- maintained within the European Economic Area unless that country or territory ensures an adequate level of protection, unless an exemption applies.
The personal data may be used to notify you about future Scenesafe and FSS services or products that we consider would be of interest to you. Scenesafe may disclose your details to our appointed service provider who will undertake these marketing services on our behalf, but we will not provide your information to any other third party for marketing purposes. Scenesafe will only supply your personal details to other organisations where such transfer is strictly necessary for the services we undertake, or if we are required to do so by law.
